Cleaning

There are many ways to clean the wheel just be sure not to use anything abrasive, this will ruin the finish and please do not get the bearings overly wet while cleaning, the CSBW comes with a spare set of bearings should you ever need to replace them, the CSE does not come with any extra bearings.

Trouble shooting? Wheel has gotten loud? Watch the first video, more times than not it's a loose wingnut. If not please contact us at dukencaabb@yahoo.com with your problem and we will try our best to help.

Wheel FAQ

Q)   What are the bearings and zip ties/plastic things that came with the wheel for?
A)   The CSBW comes with spares, so if you ever need a replacement you have it on hand. The CSE does not come with any spare parts, no bearings or zip ties included.
Q)  The legs/feet on the stand are uneven how can I fix this?
A)  The PVC and fittings are not glued so with a little force and play you can position the legs/feet back even.

Q)  How do you tilt the wheel?
A)  Hold the feet of the stand down with one arm, now grab the top arm (the PVC piece with the holes drilled in it) and pull or push in desired direction for the running angle that best suits your hog. Nothing is glued, sometimes it may take a little force and play to get it just right.

Q)  I took my wheel apart for cleaning and forgot how it was suppose to go back together?
A)  For the CSBW, Take the long carriage bolt and run it through the inside of the wheel......now take the small nut and run it down the bolt till it's tight against the roller blade wheel........now add a washer..........next the pvc arm piece in desired hole........now another washer..............finish with the wing nut.

Q)  Do the nuts ever need to be tightened?
A)  Yes,  for the CSBW it's best to tighten both nuts, the small one against the roller blade and the wing nut, once a week. For the CSE you just need to tighten the wingnut every once in awhile, the small nut has lock-tite on it.

Q)  My wheel has gotten loud, what can I do?
A)  Make sure all the nuts are tightened and everything is in order. Now give the wheel a shake. Do you hear anything? If so it's most likely a loose wingnut, watch the first video on this page and it should solve your problem

If you hear nothing it could be from uneven feet on the stand,  it could also be from the pet running so hard the wheel is bouncing around or just causing a vibration. If so try securing the wheel to the cage with zip ties or something of that sort.

Q) Any tips for keeping the bearing from getting wet while cleaning?
A)  Take your time and dry well. For the CSBW a piece of duct tape over the bolt and zip tie area works very well too, just be sure to remove it before use.

Q) The wheel looks kinda off center and does not spin perfectly straight?
A) Homemade wheels will not always spin perfectly straight. Most pets get accustomed to the wheel fairly quickly and don't seem to mind at all.
